The compact fold using one hand makes it simple to move. It can also stand on its own when folded. The cushioned seat reclines into an almost flat position and there's a large canopy and storage bin. Baby-friendly? Yes with an additional carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and good suspension can handle rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging but you should wait until your baby is at least six or nine months old for this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This lightweight 3 wheeler pushchair by Ickle Bubba is packed with lots of features that parents will love. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot for infants, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a group 0+ car seat, so you can have everything in one package.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to understand why it's received praise from its customers. It's incredibly light - the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg and it's super-easy to build. In fact I was able complete the entire setup and running in less than five minutes, which is impressive considering it included attaching the fabric for the carrycot!

The seat is wide and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket is spacious with plenty of space and I am impressed that the handle bar features a pocket to keep your phone and keys safe.

The only issue is the handlebar is low, which could be a problem for taller parents. It's covered in a soft, comfy leather-like material, and is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for active parents who want to go out and explore. The large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on field and forest trails and the front wheel can be swivelled and locked to give you more flexibility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness and front bar to keep your little one safe on all trips and the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving when you are taking a break. The comfy seat is easy to adjust down to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy opens to reveal to allow for maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be height-adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate dad's or mom's heights.

If you're planning a quick jog or a long hike, the Runner is ready to accompany you on your journeys with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee smooth, safe ride. The front wheel can be locked to provide more stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks, and the stroller folds easily to fit in car boots and storage spaces.

Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a little more difficult to navigate than its predecessor and the locking system is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on either side of the push bar). The handlebar is higher than some competitors', so it might not work for smaller parents but overall, it's an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller that is worth considering for active families.

Red Kite Push Me pacing

Red Kite's Pace is a fantastic product from the affordable British brand. They are renowned for their simple, well-designed products that are essential to parents. It's their latest and most expensive addition to the budget-friendly stroller line. Like the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat-compatible, so it can be used from birth.

The new Pace has some fantastic design elements, including a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis and stroller trims, which really make it stand out. The grey, tan and cream fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are stylish and there is an option to add an coordinating leather handle for the cover and bumper bar too.

It's suitable from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg and the stroller seat converts easily from the carrycot to the 2-in-1 reversible mode. It can be parent or world-facing. The stroller seat has multi lie back positions, comfortable padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy featuring hidden zip sections, a through flaps and a retractable sun visor section.

When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 x 43cm x 32cm, which makes it suitable for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It's also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on either side of the handlebar that you can click into and pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate, all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis, which has a shorter wheel-distance, makes it more agile than its predecessor. I tested it with my two kids - one a toddler and another eight week old - over rocky pavements as well as woodland walks that are grassy and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are huge - 22cm and 30cm - so they can cope with all kinds of terrain. They also come with a handy flap that can open or closes to allow more air to enter when you require it, which is a nice addition. It is a little bigger than some pushchairs, but it does not feel heavy or bulky when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat is machine washable and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt comfortable with it on busy urban streets. One of the advantages is that it comes with accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a tray for snacks. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, though it's not particularly waterproof. It's a single pram however, you can also attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child more legroom. It took around 20 minutes to put together the bassinet, and the same amount of time to transform it into the seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you're enjoying a morning jog under the stars or a moonlit stroll in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge transforms every moment into a shared one. This jogging stroller is all-terrain and is designed for maximum performance to keep your child and you active.

The large foam-filled 12“ and 16 “tires give you a smooth ride no matter the terrain. The patented suspension allows you to glide across trails with little impact on your child's legs and rear. And the reliable performance disc hand brake allows you to stop quickly, even while jogging downhill.

From bustling market stalls to street musicians singing The Ridge can navigate all your most loved city scenes with ease. Its spacious basket accommodates your market finds and all the essentials for your baby, while the roomy canopy provides sun and wind protection. The large front canopy unzips to reveal two mesh peekaboo windows that make it simple to observe your baby's surroundings.

The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to choose whether your child faces the world in front of them or you, and its simple foot brake system is intuitive for parents who are new. A great feature is the reversible handlebar that allows you to adjust it to your height and preference. The Ridge's fold, unlike many strollers 3 wheels, is stable and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

iCandy’s new pushchair has many features that will impress parents. It features a Multi-Mode wheelbase and a revolutionary LED Visibility Hub Light, which is an innovation for the industry. It also features an integrated Ride-on Board, which saves on future costs and makes it easier for a tired toddler to accompany your family on outings.

The Core can be bought in a single unit or as a complete travel system. it is compatible with the most popular car seats made by brands such as Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Joie. It also has the largest seat in the iCandy range, so it will last you through your baby's first years and beyond. Like all iCandy pushchairs, it's luxuriously designed and features premium knitted jersey fabric. The child's removable bumper bar and the handlebar that parents can adjust are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports are also very comfortable for children.

It was impressive how easily it folded and collapsed, even with the seat unit still attached. And it fits easily into your hallway and boot which makes it ideal to travel with. The iCandy Core comes with lots of extra accessories, including an rucksack that matches the colour of your choice and footmuff/liner.
