When selecting the new set of lever pad door handles made of upvc, it is important to ensure that they correspond to the PZ (distance between the handle spindle and the center of the hole in the cylinder) of your existing multipoint locks, as these need to be in the same line to allow doors to remain locked, whether from the inside or the outside. Our handles are designed to fit the majority of standard cylinders, but it is a good idea to double-check prior to purchasing.
If you want to upgrade to dual spindle levers, you will need to remove the handles you have already installed and disassemble the lock case. This will require an extra split inline cylinder. You can purchase these separately. We have included a diagram of the technical aspects in the images of each product.
Once you have removed the screws holding the door handle you have, it is an ideal idea to loosen them and examine the mechanism to determine how it's performing. If the screws aren't tight enough, you may need to loosen them further. Then, you can remove the spindle from the door handle and replace it with a new Upvc handle. It is important to ensure that the handle is in the right position prior to installing it. You can do this by placing your finger between the door frame, and the handle to ensure that it's level.
Lever/Lever
The lever door handles are used to operate a multi-point sash lock door handles that uses the Euro cylinder. They are found on a variety of double upvc doors as well as wooden and aluminum doors. They come in two forms, having an interior lever and a paddle on the outside. Sprung - These have an internal spring cassette within the backplate, which helps bring the handle lever into an upright position. Non-sprung: These do NOT include a mechanism that can spring the handle lever to a horizontal angle.
To fix a door handle lever that is sagging, you'll need to find the hole or detent access pin. This is usually small, protruding ring or rectangular that is located on the base of the handle plate. Once you have located it, loosen the set screw using a screwdriver and remove it to allow the lever to return to the horizontal position.
Once the handle is in a horizontal orientation, you can put the screws back in place and tighten them to make sure the handle is secure on the base plate. Consider applying a threadlocking solution to the screw threads in order to improve grip and prevent them from loosing over time.
Lever door handles that droop can be caused by a number of factors. The most frequent cause is that the fixings aren't tight and the lever bearing to bind up against the door. It could also be due to the fact that the levers are not being operated in a straight line and this is causing the latch mechanism, preventing it from fully springing back into action.
A common cause of a sprung lever not working correctly is the spring not being in the proper position on the backplate. To determine if the handle returns to its horizontal position, simply turn it.
It is crucial to fix any door handles that are loose immediately. This could lead to excessive wear on the screws and the handle may even be able to fall off the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to prevent them from becoming looser.
Lever/Snib
The handles for doors made of upvc are also referred to as handle sets with a 'Snib' and have a snib button towards the top of the lever that you can press down to lock your patio door handle replacement if you don't have the Dummy lock. We also carry a selection of other 68PZ door handles from various manufacturers, including Ferco and Fab & Fix.

Mortise
The tubular latch is the most likely to be the culprit when your door handle made of upvc door handles replacement is slammed shut. It could be due to various reasons but the most prevalent is a lack of lubrication in the latch plate. It is possible to solve this issue by opening the door and spraying lubricant onto the handle and window locking handles. Or, it could be that the latch plate is separated from the backplate. This can be a bit more problematic and requires a professional to fix.

This is the distance from the edge of the frame of the door to the center point of the hole for the handle in millimetres. You should also know if your door has hook locks or a mortise lock. Once you have these measurements, the most efficient method to determine the right handles is to search by brand option on the website. This will narrow down the options, and you will then choose the appropriate size from the list.
